単語. Vocabulary

バドミントン . the badminton
ランドセル . the backpack (for schoolchildren), the schoolbag (from the Dutch "ransel")
(*) If you pay close attention to the last sentence, knowing that in Japanese we always place the family name before the first name, we can guess that 森夏 and 森冬 are first names. However, if they are first names, they cannot be pronounced in purely Japanese "もりなつ" and "もりふゆ". These pronunciations will rather be for family names. On the other hand, the Sino-Japanese pronunciations work: "シンカ" and "シントウ".
Keep in mind that 99% of family names are purely Japanese while 45-50% of first names are Sino-Japanese. For the rest, it’s all a matter of "feeling". The two first names I chose are far from common, they are even very rare. Simply, it’s about making you think a little bit.
